My Morning Jacket's Jim James Announces New Covers LP 'Tribute To 2'

Monday, 30 October 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Jim James has announced a new covers album.

'Tribute To 2' will arrive on December 8 through ATO Records, who will also reissue 2009's 'Tribute To', James' George Harrison and Beatles covers EP, on the same day.

Unlike 'Tribute To', which was recorded on an eight-track in a matter of days, the new album was recorded over a number of years and will feature the My Morning Jacket frontman's take on tracks from the Beach Boys, Sonny and Cher, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. Speaking about the record, James said:

“These are some of my favorite covers – songs I recorded trying to bring myself peace during a rough time or trying to make myself laugh or just have fun. I hope others can relate and enjoy the journey during these tough times and hopefully in times of peace and love as well!”

Head below for James' version of the Beach Boys' I Just Wasn’t Made For These Times.
