The Damned Share New Song Procrastination

Monday, 09 April 2018 Written by Jon Stickler

The Damned have shared another track from their upcoming album, 'Evil Spirits'.

Procrastination was written by keyboard player Monty Oxymoron and will feature on the legendary punk band's first new LP in 10 years, which arrives on April 13 via Search And Destroy/Spinefarm Records. Speaking about the track, Monty said:

"The song came together by accident really. I sent Captain [Sensible] the basic tune with some lyrics, but it didn’t have a chorus at that point; magically it all fitted with a totally separate instrumental piece that he had and it all slotted together perfectly!

"Regarding the lyrics, I think everyone suffers from procrastination. We’re all capable of putting off the stuff we don’t want to do. I was in Glastonbury recently and got myself a T-shirt that sums it all up quite nicely; 'procrastinators of the world unite…tomorrow!"

The band will support the Hollywood Vampires at their UK arena shows in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and London during June. They have also lined up headline dates in Southampton, Holmfirth and Warrington this summer, prior to supporting Stiff Little Fingers in Belfast on August 25.

The Damned Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Wed August 22 2018 - SOUTHAMPTON O2 Guildhall Southampton
Thu August 23 2018 - HOLMFIRTH Picturedrome
Fri August 24 2018 - WARRINGTON Pyramid and Parr Hall

To your left and right everyone was tired and wired—perpetual motion, with hearts set on the top but heads sweating rock bottom and the latest killer party. That was the way of things in the bloody, ugly, triumphant tales that defined the early years of the Hold Steady.
