The Damned Tease Covers Album 'Not Like Everybody Else' With New Single Summer In The City

The Damned have shared another track from their upcoming covers album.
Summer In The City serves as the final preview of 'Not Like Everybody Else' ahead of its release next Friday (January 23).
Raw, punchy and driven by a stomping beat, the revamp stays pretty faithful to the original 1966 hit by The Lovin' Spoonful, and follows the band's earlier covers of Pink Floyd's See Emily Play, and There's A Ghost In My House by R. Dean Taylor.
The punk pioneers — Dave Vanian on vocals, Captain Sensible on guitar, Rat Scabies on drums, Paul Gray on bass and long-time keyboardist Monty Oxymoron — will celebrate 'Not Like Everybody Else' with covers shows in Manchester on January 28, Paris on February 1 and Cologne on February 3, performing tracks from the record alongside fan favourite covers. They'll also mark their 50th anniversary with a huge performance at London's OVO Arena Wembley on April 11, joined by special guests The Loveless featuring Marc Almond, Peter Hook And The Light, and The Courettes.
Later in the spring, they'll play Bearded Theory Festival in Derbyshire in May, alongside Pixies, Garbage, Skunk Anansie, CMAT, Kae Tempest and more. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.
The Damned released their most recent studio album, 'Darkadelic', in 2023, followed by two live records in 2024.
