Yassassin Release New Single Citizen, Announce Autumn UK Tour

Yassasin have released a new single and announced new UK shows.
Citizen is their first new material since the release of their debut EP, 'Vitamin Y', and is also their first release with new members Stephanie Anderson, previously of Bruising, and Nathalia Bruno, formerly of DRIFT.
In a statement about the song, the band said:
“‘Citizen’ has been an ever-evolving song that went through a huge re-jig when Steph and Nat joined the band. I guess it’s about realising that as messed up as our world is, there are still so many people who care and get themselves involved in fighting injustices. It really gives you hope. It’s important for young people to speak up, demonstrate, to get involved politically if that’s your thing, to write songs, make art.”
About the recording process, they continued:
“We played live to tape in order to capture more of an essence of the live shows. It heightened our senses and sharpened us up in a way that worked to get a better sounding record - leaving in those errors adds to the magic.”
The London-based five piece have a busy few months ahead, with festival sets lined up at the Great Escape, Wychwood, and Tramlines, among others, as well as numerous support slots, including LIFE in London and the Parrots in Manchester.
They have also announced headline UK shows for this autumn, following up their September 22 set at Reb’Elle Festival in Leeds with shows in Middlesbrough, Edinburgh, York, Bedford, Tunbridge Wells, and Southampton.
