Aside from his work with Bon Iver, August 31 sees the release of Big Red Machine’s first album, an eponymous record by Vernon and the National’s Aaron Dessner. He’s been hard at work with the new PEOPLE project too, putting on a 150-artist festival at Berlin’s Funkhaus earlier this month.
Yet he still finds the time to release more music under his own name. Agasteen, his latest solo material, was recorded at the PEOPLE festival with the aim of relaxation in mind. No wonder.
Agasteen is an ambient, sprawling track oozing with those synthesised sounds that, we know by now, Vernon loves to experiment with. Listen here.
