Katie Jane Garside has shared a new Ruby Throat single, Dog Song.
After taking time out to sail around the world on a boat named Iona, Garside, who previously fronted Daisy Chainsaw and QueenAdreena, is back releasing music with Ruby Throat, her collaboration with Chris Whittingham.
Dog Song showcases her searing, croaky vocals that only improve the dark folk aesthetic. The track opens with pleasant, easy-going guitars and breathy, almost whispered lines from the singer, as in true riot grrrl fashion, she tells the listener to "bring on the noise".
It is the first cut from a new Ruby Throat album, 'Stone Dress', which is due for release through One Little Indian on November 9. It follows up 2017's 'Baby Darling Taporo'.
