James Announce Spring Living In Extraordinary Times Tour

Tuesday, 04 December 2018 Written by Jon Stickler

James have announced plans to tour the UK next spring.

Starting on March 6 at Margate Winter Gardens, the tour will visit some of the UK's best known and iconic venues, from London's Royal Albert Hall and Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall, to favourites like Cambridge Corn Exchange.

James will be "supporting themselves" in a special 30-minute acoustic set before their electric main show, performing classic hits alongside new material from their most recent album, 'Living In Extraordinary Times', released back in August. Vocalist Tim Booth explained:

"So for this smaller venue March tour we intend to split the gig up into a 30'ishminute "pin drop", bars closed, acoustic set - followed by an electric set after the interval."

This week, the band unite with the Charlatans for a UK arena tour, kicking off tomorrow at Glasgow's SSE Hydro. Tickets for their new spring tour go on general sale at 9.30am on Friday, December 7.

James - Living In Extraordinary Times (Album Review)
Wed 08 Aug 2018
Listening to 'Living In Extraordinary Times', the thought occurs that indie-pop stalwarts James aren’t dissimilar to a shark. Such is the Manchester octet’s devotion to exploring fresh textures, with an insatiable forward momentum, that if they stop moving it’s likely they’ll immediately shuffle off to the great gig in the sky. Fortunately, if the band’s most recent output - and especially this effort - is anything to by, they won’t be playing chess with the Grim Reaper any time soon.

Maggie Rogers - Heard It In A Past Life (Album Review)
Wed 23 Jan 2019
Across its 45 minute running time, Maggie Rogers’ debut LP initially appears to be a success. It is immaculate—from her vocal performances through to her tasteful arrangement of modern pop tropes—and wears the hype of an early Pharrell endorsement with ease. But time reveals that to be a surface reflection.
