James Blake Continues To Tease New Album 'Assume Form'

Thursday, 10 January 2019 Written by Helen Payne

James Blake’s new album may arrive sooner than we think.

After a leak by Amazon France suggesting the follow up to 2016’s ‘The Colour In Anything’ would be released this month, the singer and electronic musician has since started teasing the record himself. A projection appeared on London’s Shoreditch High Street, and Blake shared an Instagram story of the same projection in New York’s Time Square. A website has since appeared, which plays new music on a loop.

‘Assume Form’ now has a release date too, DIY have revealed. A poster at South Kensington tube station reveals the album will drop on January 18, and features appearances from Travis Scott, Andre 3000, Moses Sumney, Metro Boomin and Rosalia. Blake has also shared a teaser video via his Twitter account, which reveals what seems to be new lyrics.

The arrival of a record in January would make sense considering he has a North American tour lined up in February and March. Meanwhile, check out the leaked track listing below, which features the Mount Kimbie collaboration Don’t Miss It, but excludes 2018’s If The Car Beside You Moves Ahead.

1. Assume Form
2. Mile High
3. Tell Them
4. Into The Red
5. Barefoot In The Park
6. Can’t Believe The Way We Flow
7. Are You In Love?
8. Where’s The Catch?
9. I’ll Come Too
10. Power On
11. Don’t Miss It
