In Flames Share Title Track Of Upcoming Album 'I, The Mask'

In Flames have shared the title track of their upcoming 13th LP.
The Swedish metal stalwarts first announced details of ’I, The Mask’ at the end of last year, alongside the release of two new songs, (This Is Our) House and I Am Above. Ahead of the album’s arrival via Nuclear Blast on March 1, the band have shared its title track and an accompanying lyric video.
The track swings between the band’s aggressive and anthemic side, with melodic thrashing building up to some clean vocal choruses. The lyrics tackle the concept of identity. Vocalist Anders Fridén said:
"We’re always eager to release new music that we’ve been waiting so long to share with our fans, so days like today are always special to us.
"The title track is one of our favorite songs on the album so choosing it to release early was pretty easy.
"This is our 13th album, but every new piece of music we reveal still brings the same amount of excitement and surrealism that this is what we get to do.
"We can’t wait to experience these songs live together with you for the first time, but in the meantime, thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy."
The band reunited with producer Howard Benson for ’I, The Mask’, who also helmed 2016’s ’Battles’. They’ll return to the UK in April for shows in Glasgow, Manchester, London, Nottingham, Bristol and Norwich.
Before that, they embark on two different North American tours, one with All That Remains and All Hail the Yeti and another alongside Within Temptation and Smash Into Pieces.
