J. Cole Returns With New Single Middle Child

Thursday, 24 January 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

J. Cole has shared his first official single since 2013.

The North Carolina rapper announced Middle Child earlier this week while working in Atlanta on the follow up to last year's 'KOD' and his Dreamville compilation, 'Revenge of the Dreamers III'.

During the song, the 33-year old name drops NBA star LeBron James and gives shout outs to Drake, Jay-Z, 21 Savage, and Kodak Black, while his lyrics focus around being a "middle child" MC between different generations of rappers.

Leading up to the release of the new track, Cole took to social media to post photos of famous middle children, including Britney Spears, Martha Stewart, Michael Jordan, Bill Gates and Jennifer Lopez.

It's unclear whether Middle Child is a one off single or part of his forthcoming full length. The new record is yet to receive a release date.
