Morrissey Annnounces First Canadian Tour In 15 Years

Morrissey has announced a spring tour of Canada, ending a near two-decade long boycott of the country over its seal hunting industry.
The former Smiths frontman has lined up eight shows in April, with stops planned in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto, where he'll play two nights at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts.
Morrissey, an outspoken animal rights activist, originally confirmed he was prepared to return to Canada last September, posting a statement to his website.
"My decision to return to Canada after almost 15 years of protest against its savage and Neanderthal annual Baby Seal Kill is entirely because my stance was ultimately of no use and helped no one.
On my return to Canada I feel that I can be of more use by making sizeable donations to animal protection groups in each city that I play."
Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on February 22.
