Mavis Staples Lines Up Spring Release For 12th Studio Album 'We Get By'

Mavis Staples will release her next album, 'We Get By', this spring.
The legendary soul powerhouse will put studio album number 12 out on May 10 via Anti- Records, coinciding with three celebratory shows commemorating her 80th birthday — New York City's Apollo Theater on May 9, Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on May 15 and Los Angeles's Theatre at Ace Hotel on May 22.
The album features 11 tracks written and produced by Ben Harper, including the invigorating first single Change. Head below to view the striking artwork, a photograph titled Outside Looking In by American photographer, author, musician and director Gordon Parks. Staples said:
"These songs are delivering such a strong message. We truly need to make a change if we want this world to be better."
Following the release, Staples will return to Europe for festival appearances and headline shows, including performances at Glastonbury and London's Roundhouse.
