Major Lazer Release New Single Can't Take It From Me

Friday, 10 May 2019 Written by Helen Payne

Major Lazer have released a new single.

Can’t Take It From Me marks the first cut from the electronica group’s fourth album, the details of which are yet to be unveiled.

The Caribbean-influenced track features Skip Marley and a buoyant brass refrain, and follows on from the October single Blow That Smoke with Tove Lo.

The single artwork marks the return of the group’s namesake, Major Lazer himself, the “infamous Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War”, who then resurfaced with a laser as a limb. Sound wacky? It pretty much is. Check out the colourful video below.

The Chemical Brothers - No Geography (Album Review)
Tue 16 Apr 2019
In the 1990s—along with Fatboy Slim and the Prodigy—the Chemical Brothers popularised a particular brand of big beat electronica that ran adjacent to, and sometimes intertwined with, the pompously termed Intelligent Dance Music movement. Their ninth studio album, ‘No Geography’ boldly revisits this sound, updating it thematically while combining many of the compositional elements brilliantly. The result is probably their best album since 2002’s ‘Come With Us’.
