Alexisonfire Release New Track Complicit

Friday, 24 May 2019 Written by Laura Johnson

Alexisonfire have released another new song.

Complicit follows up their February single Familiar Drugs, which marked the Canadian band's first new material since their 2012 EP 'Death Letter', while their last album was 2009's 'Old Crows / Young Cardinals'. Just like its predecessor, the song was produced by the band's longtime friend Karl Bareham and mixed by Grammy-award winner Jacquire King.

You may not have thought it was possible, but the new track steps things up yet another post-hardcore gear and the band tear through the four minutes with unbridled ferocity. Vocalist George Pettit said:

"‘Complicit’ is about recognizing the unfair advantages that we are afforded as white, heterosexual males. It’s about rejecting regressionist ideas of racism, misogyny and hetero supremacy. It’s about accepting that there is no freedom and no future in a world that is not inclusive."

Alexisonfire parted ways back in 2011 and reunited in 2015 for some summer festivals, and again in 2018 for a set at Download festival and a show at the O2 Academy Brixton in London. They'll take to the stage together this summer for dates in London, New York, Los Angeles and Toronoto.
