Thom Yorke Announces New Album 'ANIMA' And Accompanying Film

Thursday, 20 June 2019 Written by Laura Johnson

Following a series of teaser posts, Thom Yorke has announced a new album.

'ANIMA' will be released on June 27 with a "one-reeler" film set to accompany it. For the latter the Radiohead frontman collaborated with award-winning American filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.

The news comes following the announcement of Yorke embarking on a North American solo tour this fall with backing from producer Nigel Godrich and visual artist Tarik Barri.

He'll perform material from his work away from Radiohead, including 'The Eraser' and 'Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes', Atoms for Peace’s 'Amok', as well as "new and unreleased material", according to a press release.

The trek kicks off on September 26 in Laval, Quebec and finishes on October 29 at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on June 21.
