Wednesday 13 Details New Album 'Necrophaze', Shares First Single Decompose

Friday, 26 July 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Wednesday 13 has announced his eighth studio album, 'Necrophaze'.

The horror-punk stalwart will put out the follow up to 2017's 'Condolences' on September 27 via Nuclear Blast Records, describing it as "the most elaborate" album he's released under his own name. He said:

"To say we are excited about this release would be an understatement. We have re-built and Frakensteined an all new Wednesday. This is the next chapter, the next experience, the next phase into our world… Enter the Necrophaze.

"This is the most elaborate, horror themed album I’ve ever released under the name Wednesday 13. Channeling the atmosphere of early '80s horror films, TV shows, cartoons and movie soundtracks, the Necrophaze was complete."

Alongside the news comes the record's creeptastic first single Decompose, one of the first songs written for the record. Discussing it, the frontman continued:

“Decompose is one of the first songs that was written for the new album and one of the songs I was most excited about.

"Our drummer Kyle came up with the music and once the band all got together, it took on a new life. With the addition of the eerie keyboard and piano pieces added in by Stone Sour and Hellyeah’s Roy Mayorga, this is another classic Wednesday 13 graveyard sing along."

In addition to Mayorga, 'Necrophaze' also features guest appearances from Alice Cooper, Children of Bodom's Alexi Laiho, and Lacuna Coil vocalist Cristina Scabbia.

Wednesday 13 tours the UK and Europe later this year supporting Static-X alongside Dope and Soil. Tickets are on sale now.
