Iggy Pop has released a new track.

James Bond is the latest to be lifted from the punk legend's new album, 'Free', which is due out on September 6. The song features Iggy Pop on vocals, with additional voice by Faith Vern, Leron Thomas on trumpet, Robin Sherman on bass, Thomas Glass on drums and Ari Teitel on guitar. Iggy Pop said:

"I don't know what she's up to exactly, but the tables seem to be turning, and she's taking over. Well, why not? I’ll try anything once.

"I’ve never had more fun singing a lyric. Faith’s reading is so loaded, and Leron’s production and trumpet along with the band swings like crazy.”

James Bond has a 960s and '70s rock feel, growing from a pared back beginning of just bass and vocals to steadily incorporate all players into an understated groove.
