Caribou Announces Spring Headline UK And Ireland Tour, Shares First New Track In Five Years

Wednesday, 09 October 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Caribou has shared tour dates and his first new track in five years, Home.

The soulful track, which was premiered on Annie Mac's BBC Radio One show, is built around a sample of the Gloria Barnes song of the same name.

It marks the first new music from the Canadian producer, real name Dan Snaith, since 2014's 'Our Love' album, although he did put out the 'Sizzling' EP under his club alias, Daphni, this past summer. Speaking about the Barnes sample, he said:

"I'm always listening to lots of music and sometimes a loop just jumps out at me—it's too perfect. I kept returning to it, meaning to do something with it but not knowing what... It wasn't until the circumstances of someone close to me mirrored the refrain of the original song that the track all came together."

Snaith has also lined up tour dates across the UK, Europe and North America for 2020. He'll take his new material out on the road next spring, with the UK leg including stops in Brighton, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol and London, where he'll take over the O2 Academy Brixton. There's also a huge Dublin show in the diary for July 11. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on October 11.
