Algiers will return with their third LP in early 2020.

With 'There Is No Year' out on January 17 via Matador Records, the Atlanta via London and New York City political punk-soul band have today shared its foreboding lead single Dispossession, which comes with a black-and-white video shot in the Noisy le Grand commune in the Paris suburbs. Speaking about the album's themes, the band's Ryan Mahan said:

"The spectre of dispossession is haunting us all. Everywhere the imperial world represses the ghoulish histories that sustain our pasts, presents and futures.

"Franklin's [James Fisher] lyrics throughout Dispossession and our new record, 'There is No Year', like a neo-Southern Gothic novel with an anti-oppression undercurrent, testify to this modern horror, and chronicle the various ways we all – through living and longing – endure and resist its persistent attacks."

The album's announcement and new track follows in the wake of Can The Sub Bass Speak?, an online audiovisual project the band dropped earlier this year.

They'll accompany the album's release with a previously confirmed UK and European tour during February and early March. Head below for dates and details.
