The Shins have shared their first new tracks since 2017’s ‘Heartworms’.
Waimanalo and Trapped By The Sea come as part of a charity 7" vinyl series called ‘Fug Yep Soundation'. It was created in honour of former Shins band member Richard Swift, who died last year.
The first volume in the series saw contributions from Lucius, including a Christmas cover. Proceeds from sales of ‘Fug Yep’ will support Swift’s family, MusiCares and Music Support UK.
The first track is a lo-fi country number with simple guitars and a harmonica, while the latter is a surprising contrast, using bubbling synths and ethereal vocals to give the impression of being under water.
