Run The Jewels Share New Song The Yankee And The Brave

Monday, 23 March 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

Run The Jewels have shared a new song.

The Yankee And The Brave finds the hip hop duo trading verses over a hard-hitting drum beat. The track has been dubbed the 'jump the street corona edition' and serves as the first preview of Killer Mike and El-P's highly anticipated fourth full-length, which is expected to drop this year.

Titled 'RTJ4', the album was recorded at both Rick Rubin's Los Angeles-based Shangri-La studio and the famous Electric Lady Studios in New York. El-P took to Instagram to preview the new song and revealed via Twitter that once the album arrives, it'll be available free of charge.

"Like every album we've done #RTJ4 will be available in all the normal places but also as a free download. This is for anyone who doesn’t feel like they have a budget for music right now or for anyone who isn’t sure they fuck with us yet."

The pair were scheduled to join Rage Against the Machine on the band's spring reunion tour, before it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. They will, however, appear on the main stage at Reading and Leeds festivals in the UK this summer prior to RATM's headline set.

Last year, Run The Jewels teamed up with Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA for 3 Tearz, while their most recent full-length was 2016's 'RTJ3'.
