Dropkick Murphys have shared a new single.
The Boston Celtic punks debuted Mick Jones Nicked My Pudding during their St. Patrick's Day concert on March 17. The show was broadcast across multiple digital platforms from a Boston venue without fans in attendance following the coronavirus postponement of their week-long run of hometown gigs.
A tribute of sorts to the Clash guitarist, the raucous and rollicking romp comes with an equally fervent b-side, James Connolly, penned by friend of the band Larry Kirwan.
As singer Ken Casey revealed during their Streaming Up From Boston performance (viewable below), the song describes a true story from friend and founding member of Flogging Molly, Tedd Hutt, who actually had his pudding stolen by the punk icon.
Both Mick Jones Nicked My Pudding and James Connolly are available for streaming and purchasing via Bandcamp and the Dropkick Murphys online store.
At present, the band's US shows with Rancid in May are still set to go ahead. The tour will precede a new as-yet-untilted album due on September 11 via their own label, Born and Bred Records. Stay tuned for further details.
