John Legend has posted an uplifting new track, Bigger Love.
The soul-pop number shares its title with the singer-songwriter's forthcoming album, which is expected to drop this summer via Columbia Records. Written by Legend and longtime collaborators Ryan Tedder, Zach Skelton and Cautious Clay, the single places urbane harmonies atop EDM-lite beats and syncopated handclaps.
Legend is set to perform a rendition of Bigger Love on April 18 during the Global Citizen’s One World: Together At Home, a digital event in aid of frontline workers and the World Health Organisation. He said:
“This song is a celebration of love, resilience and hope. I wrote it last year, before any of us could have imagined what 2020 would become. The message of the song is that love can help carry us through these dark times and music can bring us joy and inspiration. I hope it brings some light to people's day and maybe inspires a dance break!”
