I Contain Multitudes promptly follows up Murder Most Foul, the legendary singer-songwriter's first original material in eight years that arrived in March.
In comparison to its 17-minute, John F. Kennedy-focused predecessor, the song is much more conversational and finds him opting for the eletric guitar instead of piano. Lyrically, it finds Dylan as razor-sharp as ever: "I sing the songs of experience, like William Blake, I have no apologies to make."
Dylan's last album of original tracks was 2012's 'Tempest'. He followed this with three albums of covers from the Great American Songbook, the last being 2017's 'Triplicate'.
Dylan is currently still set to tour North America with Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats this summer. However, things may change due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Keep up to date on affected tours here with Stereoboard.
