Frank Iero and the Future Violents have shared a video for Medicine Square Garden.

The experimental punk-rock track features on the My Chemical Romance guitarist’s third solo record, 'Barriers', which landed in in May 2019.

The surreal clip, meanwhile, follows a retro 1980s aerobics interspersed with shots of Iero and his band performing as if they're in Rober Palmer's Addicted To Love video, before it culminates in a gruesome, blood-drenched battle spurred on by heavy metallers GWAR dressed up as aliens. Iero said:

"It was apparent to me early on while writing Barriers that 'Medicine Square Garden' was its most important track. It was the cornerstone upon which the rest of the record and band was formed. If we lost the battle on that song, the rest didn’t stand a chance. Medicine Square Garden pushed the most boundaries, scratched the most itches, and terrified me far beyond any other song I had written. So when we crossed off every box in Chicago at Electrical Audio and listened back with smiles knowing we had accomplished our goals, a new objective soon emerged: Get the label to see our favorite song as a single, and let us make the video of my dreams."

Alongside his work with the Future Violents, Iero has been gearing up to head out on a reunion tour with My Chemical Romance, who are set to play three huge gigs at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes this summer.

However, it is uncertain if all dates will go ahead as planned due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Keep up to date in real time with Stereoboard.
