Noname Responds To J. Cole With Madlib-Produced Song 33

Friday, 19 June 2020 Written by Huw Baines

Noname has shared a new song that seems to act as a response to J. Cole’s recently released Snow on tha Bluff.

Produced by Madlib, Song 33 nods to the deaths of both George Floyd and Toyin Salau. “Why Toyin body don't embody all the life she wanted? A baby, just 19,” she raps.

Referencing Cole’s apparent diss, which he later addressed in a series of tweets, she adds: “When George was beggin' for his mother, saying he couldn't breathe, you thought to write about me?”

Noname released ‘Room 25’ in 2018. Stream Song 33 below, alongside its lyrics.
