Maroon 5's Mickey Madden Takes 'Leave of Absence' Following Arrest, Band Reschedules US Tour

Maroon 5’s Mickey Madden has stepped back from the band following his arrest on domestic violence charges.
The bassist was arrested last month and charged with intimate partner violence, a Los Angeles police spokesperson confirmed to the New York Post.
“I have some things that I need to deal with and address right now and so I have decided to take a leave of absence from Maroon 5 for the foreseeable future," Madden said in a statement released to People. “During this time, I do not want to be a distraction to my bandmates. I wish them the absolute best.”
Following Madden’s arrest, a representative for Maroon 5 said: “We are deeply devastated by this disappointing news. As we learn more, we are looking at this very seriously. For now, we are allowing all of the individuals involved the space to work things through.”
Maroon 5 have also announced rescheduled dates for their planned 2020 US tour. The group will now head out next summer and remain on the road through to October, including a new date at New York’s Madison Square Garden on September 10. Tickets are on sale on July 24.
