The Rolling Stones Premiere Video For Previously Unreleased Song Scarlet

Thursday, 06 August 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

The Rolling Stones have released a video for their previously unheard song Scarlet.

The long-lost blues-rock track, recorded by the band in 1974, was unveiled last month and features Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and Blind Faith’s Rick Gerch. It’ll appear as one of three unreleased gems on the rock icons' upcoming deluxe and box set edition of 1973’s ‘Goats Head Soup’, out on September 4.

The clip stars 24-year-old Irish actor Paul Mescal who you may recognise from the television series Normal People. It was helmed by directing duo Us and shot on location at London's iconic Claridge Hotel. Take a look below.

The band put out their first original composition in eight years, Living In A Ghost Town, in April. They've also announced a new concert film, Steel Wheels Live, due out with an accompanying live record on September 25.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic caused them to postpone the summer North American leg of their No Filter Tour. Rescheduled dates are still to be confirmed.
