Disclosure Share New Single Birthday Featuring Kehlani And Syd, Announce UK Club Shows

Disclosure have released a new single featuring Kehlani and Syd.
Birthday deals in R&B vibes and intricate, playful drum beats as both singers deliver soulful vocals. It's the last track to be lifted from the sibling duo's new album, 'Energy', which arrives tomorrow (August 28) — the song's Kid Studio-directed video will be released on the same day. Howard Lawrence said:
“Syd & I were going through a similar thing at the time, trying to work out if it was cool to call your ex to say hi or is it too awkward / mean to do so out of the blue?”
“It’s the oldest song on the album by far so has definitely stood the test of time and deservedly made the cut” added Guy Lawrence. “And the addition of Kehlani just took it to the next level and turned into a fire duet.”
It follows previous cuts Douha (Mali Mali) with Fatoumata Diawara, My High featuring Aminé and slowthai, and the record's title track that samples spoken word extracts from hip hop artist Eric Thomas.
The brothers have also released a VIP remix of the track, and announced a series of club shows in the UK and Europe for early next year. Tickets go on general sale at 9am tomorrow. They said:
“We’ve got some dates lined up for next year in venues that really capture what this record is all about…ENERGY! With everything happening in the world, we really hope that these shows will be a reality, and that we can convey exactly why we made this record.”
