Turntables was penned by the R&B star with Nathaniel Irvin III and George A. Peters, while production was handled by Nate "Rocket" Wonder and Roman GianArthur.
It's the first new material to be released by Monáe since 2019's That's Enough from the Lady And The Tramp soundtrack. Her last album was 2018's 'Dirty Computer'.
Soul and hip hop lies at the heart of the powerful Turntables, which highlights voters rights ahead of the upcoming 2020 presidential election in the United States. It'll feature in the new documentary about voter suppression, All In: The Fight For Democracy, which will be available via Amazon Prime Video on September 18.
The filmmakers and Amazon Studios have also collaborated to launch a campaign combating misinformation about the voting process while promoting programming to educate and register first-time voters. Head here for details.
