Demob Happy Unveil Video For Mother Machine

Monday, 21 September 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

Demob Happy have shared a video for Mother Machine.

The trio released the glam-rock stomper back in January, while the hand-drawn animated clip was created during the COVID-19 lockdown period and tells the story of a trippy, cosmic adventure.

Take a look below. In a post on social media, the band wrote:

"For a bit of context to what you’re about to witness, we always intended to make a video for Mother Machine, but when lockdown struck, our options became artificially limited. We didn’t want to waste the magnificent story potential of the song on a low budget green screen webcam romp… so we decided to create something far bigger in scope, but that could be drawn by Tom at home....

"So Tom and I wrote the story of Cozmo, based on my space-opera lyrics about distant artificial moons* breeding and seeding life on empty planets, and Tom started drawing these amazing galactic space-cruizin' illustrations around May. He even developed RSI in his wrist from all the action it got, which slowed things down only because "drumming" requires "100%" of his "arms".

Demob Happy's most recent album came in the shape of 2018's 'Holy Doom'.
