Ólafur Arnalds Releases New Single Woven Song

Thursday, 24 September 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

Ólafur Arnalds has shared a new song.

Giving us a further glimpse into the sound of his forthcoming album, 'Some Kind Of Peace', Woven Song unfolds elegantly around a repeating piano melody and delicate strings, and comes paired with a stunning video

It follows the record's early teasers We Contain Multitudes and Back To The Sky, with collaborations from Bonobo and Josin also set to feature. Arnalds said:

"Woven Song is a defining moment of 'Some Kind Of Peace'. A metaphor for being embraced by something larger than yourself while exploring new territories, the feeling of being held while you open your heart. Using an acrylic pouring process called 'viscous fingering' to obtain fractal shapes, Thomas Vanz has created a beautiful visual representation of the lifeline that anchors you to the world during a challenging experience."

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused Arnalds to postpone all of his 2020 shows, including a performance at London's Eventim Apollo. Rescheduled dates are still to be announced.
