James And Leftfield Among New Acts Confirmed For Glasgow's Playground Festival Line Up

Monday, 14 December 2020 Written by Laura Johnson

James (pictured) and Leftfield are among the new acts confirmed for the 2021 edition of Playground Festival.

After this year's event was cancelled due to COVID-19, the three-day festival will return to Glasgow's Rouken Glen Park next summer to host a mix of iconic and new acts.

James and Leftfield will take the stage on Friday July 30, joining headliners Underworld on the opening day. Kraftwerk 3D are set to top the bill on the Saturday, with Nile Rodgers and CHIC set to close the final day. James frontman, Tim Booth said:

"We are very happy to be playing the Playground Festival sandwiched in between Underworld and Leftfield.

"Underworld have created some of my favourite tracks - at least one will be danced to at my funeral - they are true pioneers of new musical forms that deepen with age."

Other acts revealed include Tom McGuire and the Brass Holes, Fauves, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and Lee Watson. Head below to keep up to date with the latest line up announcements
