Greta Van Fleet have announced their sophomore album.

The follow-up to 2018's 'Anthem of the Peaceful Army' is called 'The Battle At Garden's Gate' and is due for release on April 16 through Lava/Republic Records. Vocalist Josh Kiszka said:

"There was a lot of self-evolution happening during the writing of this album that was prompted by experiences I had, experiences we all had, so a lot of contemplation occurred."

"It's reflecting a lot of the world that we've seen, and I think that it's reflecting a lot of personal truth," added guitarist Jake Kiszka. "What Josh does very well with the lyrics is telling ancient tales with a contemporary application."

The album was helmed by the Grammy Award-winning producer Greg Kurstin, who is known for his work with Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney, Lily Allen, Devo, Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue, Sia, Adele and Liam Gallagher, to name just a few. It will feature their previously shared track My Way, Soon and their new single Age Of Machine.

The latter is a seven-minute offering that deals in the '70s-influenced blues-rock the band have become known for and features an impressively dynamic vocal performance from Josh atop an expansive and contemplative guitar-led soundscape. Check it out below alongside the record's artwork.
