Danny Elfman has released a new track.

Sorry is a suspenseful and erratic deep dive into a dark corner of the renowned film composer's psyche via industrial rock and minor-leaning instrumentation.

It follows his 2020 single Happy, which arrived in October and marked his first solo music in over 30 years. Elfman, also known as the singer-songwriter for '80s new wave band Oingo Boingo, said:

"'Sorry' was the first song I’ve written for myself in a long time. It began as an obsessive choral-chant instrumental work, which at the time I called ‘alien orchestral chamber punk’ and evolved slowly into a song. I was surprised by the amount of rage I'd been storing inside myself which came bursting out as soon as I applied my voice."

The song's accompanying video is animated by Jesse Kanda and was originally created as a backdrop visual for his performance of it at last year's Coachella, which was subsequently postponed due to COVID-19.
