The Libertines, Culture Club, Nile Rodgers And CHIC Announced For Rearranged Playground Festival

Friday, 14 May 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Playground Festival 2021 has been moved due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The event will now take place in September at Rouken Glen Park in Glasgow after organisers were unable to guarantee the music festival would go ahead on the original dates in July and August.

The festival has retained many of the acts confirmed for the original line up, however some artists and bands are no longer able to perform on the new dates.

The reshuffled bill now boasts headliners The Libertines, Culture Club, and Nile Rodgers and CHIC, who will top the bill on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively, with many more acts confirmed across the three days. The team behind the festival said:

"The rescheduled date means that some of our friends such as Gary Numan, Jon Hopkins, Kelis, Kraftwerk, Neneh Cherry and Underworld were not be able to appear as part of this year's festival. We worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring most of our 2020 line-up into 2021 but the world had other ideas.

"Thank you for standing by us, it's been a hard year and I think we are all about ready to dance in that beautiful green leafy park of ours."

Head below for the latest line up developments.
