Billy Bragg has released a new single, Pass It On.
The acoustic guitar-led, country-folk-leaning song finds him joined by Romeo Stodart (piano,vocals), Jack Valero (guitar, vocals), Michele Stodart (bass,vocals), Maisie Rose Skipper (backing vocals) and Darren Beckett (drums).
It's the latest cut to be lifted from the renowned singer-songwriter's new album, 'The Million Things That Never Happened', which is set to arrive on October 8 through Cooking Vinyl. He said:
“I read somewhere that the second most googled thing after pornography is ancestry. People want to know where they come from, why they were born, where they were born. You can get facts from the web, but details are priceless and can often only be learned orally from relatives. Yet too many of us rue the fact that we are left to piece together family stories from fragments we recall because we never asked our elders those questions.”
Bragg will hit the road for a previously announced UK tour this autumn. Prior to that, he'll play a virtual show on September 9. Head here for details on the latter and below for further information about the tour.
