Jarvis Cocker Collaborates With Wes Anderson For French Pop Covers Album

Jarvis Cocker has announced an album of French pop covers.

A companion release to director Wes Anderson's upcoming film The French Dispatch, 'Chansons d'Ennui Tip-Top' will arrive along with the feature-length on October 22.

It'll include Cocker's reinterpretation of the 1965 French hit single Aline, which was originally written and recorded by the singer Christophe. There are also covers of songs released during the era that the movie is set in, as well as reworks by Cocker and his band JARV IS… of songs by Françoise Hardy, Serge Gainsbourg, Brigitte Bardot, and Jacques Dutronc. JARV IS... will hit the road for a rescheduled UK tour in November. Their debut album, 'Beyond The Pale', landed in July 2020.
