The Cribs Share Video For Swinging At Shadows

Wednesday, 15 September 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

The Cribs have released a video for Swinging At Shadows.

The track debuted in August as the first song from their Sonic Blew Singles Club, which will see them drop a new tune monthly until the end of 2021. Fans who subscribe will receive four two-track 7"s comprising an a-side from their 'Night Network' album sessions, along with a home recording undertaken during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The DIY clip was filmed during the band's recent appearance at the South Facing Festival in Crystal Palace Park. Bassist and singer Gary Jarman said:

"Due to all the legal wrangling over our masters, and then the pandemic shutdown, we had not played a live show in three years…plus, people have been starved of festivals for so long too, so it seemed like a good opportunity to make our first live music video. Crystal Palace Park is an historic venue - we had seen some photos of it from back in the 70's and it just looked so rad - so we really wanted to capture the performance on film. Over the years we have shot a lot of behind the scenes stuff on Super 8, so the whole thing was really easy and fun - all natural, no self consciousness or anything. Plus, I got a free ice cream out of it - which was nice."

The Cribs will support 'Night Network' with a rescheduled headline UK tour in March.
