Demi Lovato Posts New Song Unforgettable (Tommy's Song)

Monday, 11 October 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Demi Lovato has paid tribute to their late friend with an emotional new song.

The heartfelt Unforgettable (Tommy's Song) is dedicated to model Thomas Trussell III, who died in October 2019 following a struggle with drug addiction.

The 29-year-old singer, who has been open about their own fight with substance abuse, took to social media to share the ballad, captioning the clip with:

"Two years ago I lost someone who meant so much to me. His name was Tommy and he was such a beautiful, special man. I wrote this song the day after I found out that he had lost his battle with addiction. This disease is extremely cunning and powerful."

Net proceeds from the song will go towards The Voices Project, a non-profit organisation working to end the addiction crisis in America. They also encouraged anyone battling with addiction to reach out to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s national helpline at 1-800-662-HELP.

Lovato released their latest studio album, 'Dancing With the Devil…The Art of Starting Over', in April.
