50 New Acts Announced For Focus Wales 2022

50 new acts have been confirmed for this year's Focus Wales.

The festival will return to venues in Wrexham, North Wales for its 11th edition in May. The event's 20 stages will host 250 artists, as well as music industry delegates, with the schedule comprising interactive industry sessions, stand-up comedy, arts events, film screenings, and live performances.

Among the newly confirmed acts are CVC, Lydia Maddix, Mart Avi, HEMES, Private World, Niques, SHLUG, Foxxglove, Mirari More, Telgate, French Alps Tiger, Big Thing, Silent Forum, Mali Hâf, DEADLETTER, Show Dogs, Bright Young People, Ellie James, Yo Diablo, Lunar Bird, Feather Beds, Blood Honey, Gabe Is a Unit, Aderyn, Lizzie Squad, Megan Owen, Altameda, Malgola, No, Declan Swans, Sorry Stacy, Goddesses, VOYA, BAHR, and Bookhouse. 

What? A three-day, multi-site festival with the spotlight on artists and acts Wales has to offer the world, alongside a selection of the best new acts from across the globe.

Where? Various venues in Wrexham.

When? May 5-7, 2022.

Who? Among the 50 new acts joining the bill are CVC, Lydia Maddix, Mart Avi, HEMES, Private World, Niques, SHLUG, Foxxglove, Mirari More, Telgate, French Alps Tiger, Big Thing, Silent Forum, Mali Hâf, DEADLETTER, Show Dogs, Bright Young People, Ellie James, Yo Diablo, Lunar Bird, Feather Beds, Blood Honey, Gabe Is a Unit, Aderyn, Lizzie Squad, Megan Owen, Altameda, Malgola, No, Declan Swans, Sorry Stacy, Goddesses, VOYA, BAHR, and Bookhouse. 

Elsewhere, there will be performances from Ailsa Tully, Aisha Kigs, Alanaire, Alexandra Alden, Ani Glass, Artshawty, Atzur, Ava In The Dark, Beija Flo, BEMZ, Benji Wild, BLÁNID, Cara Hammond, China Bears, Clwb Fuzz, Cosmic Dog Fog, DALHIA, Deep Tan, Dilettante, Dim ond Dawns, Endaf, Enjoyable Listens, Fright Years, Growl of Clown, Hey Djan, Hourglvss, Jack in Water, Jago Lyne (Gottwood), Kapil Seshasayee, Kiddus, Laikka, Lisa Oakes, Los Blancos, Marta Knight, Moon Panda, Naya Ali, Red Telephone, Rona Mac, SZWÉ, TeiFi, The Montagues, TUYS, Xenith, and YazMean.

Public Service Broadcasting will headline Llwyn Isaf, the new outdoor big top, on Thursday May 5, Self Esteem the following day, and Echo and the Bunnymen on Saturday May 7.

Also set to appear across the weekend are Goat Girl, Balimaya Project, Pip Blom, Georgia Ruth, Henge, The Royston Club, Art School Girlfriend, Honeyglaze, Adwaith, The Besnard Lakes, Kizzy Crawford, Peaness, John Bramwell, Grove, Mace The Great, Teke::Teke, XL Life, Bandicoot, Super Duty Tough Work, Seazoo, Evrah Rose, Ogun, Jodie Marie, Eadyth, Tara Bandito, Keys, Alice Low, Mickey Callisto, Monique B, Cerys Hafana, Bryan's Magic Tears, Megan Lee, Asha Jane, MINAS, and Eye, plus new artists from France, India, Spain, the US. Canada, Japan, India, Mexico, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
