Thousand Miles marks the Australian rapper and singer's first new music of 2022, and arrives accompanied by a music video directed by Christian Breslauer. It co-stars Katarina Deme, with Laroi playing the role of both the hero and the villain.
Co-written by Laroi with Andrew Watman, Louis Bell and Billy Walsh, and co-produced by Bell alongside Andrew Watt, the pop track follows his 2021 breakout single Stay with Justin Bieber.
It was first previewed by the 18-year-old on social media earlier that same year, and is set to appear on his forthcoming debut album, which is tentatively titled 'Kids Are Growing Up', though details such as a release date are still to be confirmed. He said:
"I wrote this song when I first met my now girlfriend. I really liked her but I knew at the time I couldn’t give her the relationship she deserved due to the direction my life was heading - being young as hell trying to chase the dream I had of being a big artist or whatever. It’s me telling her to stay a thousand miles away from me because I didn’t want to hurt her. But I mean yeah here we are all this time later and I guess it’s goin pretty well lmao."
The Kid Laroi will bring his End Of The World Tour to the UK and Europe this summer. The trek kicks off in his native Australia in May, with North American dates scheduled for August and September. Tickets are on sale now.
