Sampa The Great has dropped a new single, Lane.

It finds the Zambian-born Botswana-raised artist collaborating with Denzel Curry for a dreamy song that switches between spoken word, atmospheric instrumental and melodic passages. Curry also contributes an invigorating, rapid-fire verse to the mix.

The track marks the poet and rapper's Loma Vista/Concord debut release, and the first taste of her own new material since 2019's debut album 'The Return'. It arrives with a striking music video directed by Rochelle Rhembard and Imraan Christian. Sampa said:

"We’re not going to stay in one lane, we’re going to create multiple ones...My truest self encourages me to explore different lanes, and go beyond what I think I know of myself."

Sampa performed at Coachella earlier in April, and will play a free Central Park SummerStage show with Pink Siifu in July.

Denzel Curry, meanwhile, recently teamed up with T-Pain for the single, Troubles, which appears on his fifth album, 'Melt My Eyez See Your Future', out now. Having just wrapped up a North American tour, he has dates scheduled for the UK and Europe this spring, with further North American gigs in the diary for the summer.
