Diana Ross And Tame Impala Share Minions Film Collaboration Turn Up The Sunshine

Thursday, 19 May 2022 Written by Jon Stickler

Diana Ross and Tame Impala have collaborated on a new song, Turn Up The Sunshine.

Dealing in groove-laden beats and soaring string arrangements, the radiant, party-ready, disco banger will appear on the star-studded soundtrack accompanying the latest film in the Despicable Me franchise, Minions: The Rise Of Gru.

The star-studded, '70s-inspired record is due out on July 1 via Decca Records, to coincide with the new animated film's global theatrical release.

Produced by Jack Antonoff, the 19-song album also boasts tracks by St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Brockhampton and Antonoff's band Bleachers. Other contributors include H.E.R., Thundercat, Caroline Polachek and Brittany Howard. Head here to check out the tracklist, along with a trailer for the animated feature-length.

Diana Ross will take her Thank U Tour across UK this summer, which includes headline slots at Lytham Festival and The Cambridge Club. She also plays an Eden Sessions gig at The Eden Project Cornwall in June, and Ireland dates in July. The trek shares its name with Ross' 2021 album 'Thank You'.

Tame Impala will tour Europe beginning in August, with a headline appearance at London's All Points East Festival set for August 25.
