Beth Orton Announces New Album 'Weather Alive' And Autumn UK Tour

Tuesday, 31 May 2022 Written by Laura Johnson

Beth Orton has announced a new album.

The follow-up to 2016's 'Kidsticks' is called 'Weather Alive' and will arrive on September 23 through Partisan Records. Introducing it online, she said:

"In the pauses, between the critical voices. In the empty hours when I wasn’t sure of much anymore I wrote some songs. I sat at a piano and I sang to the resonance. With the sensitivity and support of some beautiful collaborators I turned these songs for no one into songs that I hope will sing to many. I went deep and it might take a minute but keep listening and I hope what came to me finds its way to you. Love, Beth"

The English singer-songwriter will support the record with an autumn UK tour, calling in Birmingham, Brighton, London, Norwich, Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester and Leeds between October 7 and 16.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on June 10. Meanwhile, head below to check out the record's artwork and a video for the album's title track, an expansive and atmospheric folk-rock cut that clocks in at just over seven minutes.

Prior to the album's release, Orton will support Alanis Morissette in the UK and Europe, as well as appear at summer festivals, including Latitude and Beautiful Days.
