The Amazons Continue To Tease Third Album With New Single How Will I Know?

Friday, 19 August 2022 Written by Laura Johnson

The Amazons have released a new single.

How Will I Know? opens their new album, 'How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?', which is due out on September 9, having been pushed back from September 2.

The arena-sized rock song was written while lead singer Matt Thomson and his girlfriend were separated for seven months during the Coronavirus pandemic, while the video was directed by Gus Black and features actors Cailyn Rice and Jason Marrs. Thomson said:

“The video follows the story of not only the song but the album as a whole. It’s as autobiographical a video as we’ve ever made, about being separated from someone by distance and time and doing whatever you possibly can to force a change of that situation.

“We had to get Gus to tell this story. I already adored his work with Phoebe Bridgers and Lizzy McApline before getting connected via a friend in LA. It’s a bizarre thrill for me and the person the song is about to see our story portrayed in an alternate universe. The actors, Cailyn Rice and Jason Marrs did a wonderful job.”

The follow-up to 2019's 'Future Dust' will also include the previously shared cuts Ready For Something and Bloodrush. The Reading band will support the record with a headline UK and Ireland tour in October.
