Cavetown, the musical project of Robin Skinner, have announced a new album.

The follow-up to 2020's major label debut 'Sleepyhead' is called 'Worm Food' and will arrive on November 4 via Sire Records. The details come alongside a new track, 1994, which follows July's Grocery Store and arrives paired with a video co-directed by Skinner and Lorenzo Diego Carrera.

"1994 is about dealing with perceived guilt and how it can become over-exaggerated in my head," Skinner explained. "I'm working on defining the line between what's really wrong in a situation versus what is made up in my head, because it’s the parts that aren’t real that I end up feeling quite guilty about.

"The lyrics are a message to myself, to help me see that there’s still a child inside of me that is deserving of love and care. The line 'Say you're coming around/I need you lately everything's been getting me down' is about feeling comforted by isolating myself, but learning to be comforted by the presence of someone else."

Cavetown have also confirmed another round of UK dates, on top of an already announced trio of gigs this coming November at London's Eventim Apollo, Belfast Ulster Hall and Dublin's Olympia Theatre.

The new shows will get underway on February 14 at Brighton Dome, before stops in Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Cambridge. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on September 16.
