Wilko Johnson has died at the age of 75.

The guitarist for Dr Feelgood and Game Of Thrones actor passed away at home on Monday (November 21) following a battle with pancreatic cancer. The news was confirmed via a post on his official social media accounts, which read:

"This is the announcement we never wanted to make, and we do so, on behalf of Wilko's family and the band, with a very heavy heart:

"Wilko Johnson has died. He passed away at home on Monday evening, 21st November 2022.

"Thank you for respecting Wilko's family's privacy at this very sad time, and thank you all for having been such a tremendous support throughout Wilko's incredible life.

"RIP Wilko Johnson."

The singer-songwriter was given a terminal diagnosis in 2013 and revealed via a statement from his manager at the time that he did not want to receive treatment or undergo chemotherapy.

In 2014, he had an operation and declared himself cancer free, revealing later that he was told he had 10 months to live.

Johnson, known for his distinctive guitar playing style, played and wrote with Dr Feelgood in the mid 1970s, on albums including 'Down By The Jetty', 'Malpractice', 'Stupidity' and 'Sneakin' Suspicion'. He departed in 1977 and went on to join Ian Dury's The Blockheads for a brief spell in 1980, before dropping a string of LPs with The Wilko Johnson Band.

His final record with The Wilko Johnson Band came in the form of 2018's 'Blow Your Mind'. He performed right up to his death, appearing at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in October.
