Primal Scream, Fred Again.. And Boygenius Lead Line-Up Announcement For Edinburgh's Connect Festival

Connect Festival has announced the first acts for its 2023 line-up.

Following the inaugural 2022 event, the boutique festival will return to Edinburgh's Royal Highland Showgrounds in August, expanding the site to allow festival-goers to bring their own tent, along with pre-pitched tents plus a field for live-in vehicles.

Headlining the opening night will be Primal Scream (pictured), performing their seminal album 'Screamadelica' in full. They'll be joined Franz Ferdinand, Future Islands, and Confidence Man.

DJ and producer Fred again.. will top the bill on the Saturday, following sets from Edinburgh natives Young Fathers, Róisín Murphy, and MUNA.

Sunday will see a performance from Boygenius, featuring Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus. Festival manager Katt Lingard said:

"We’re delighted to announce our line-up for Connect 2023. After such a fantastic festival in 2022, we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to an even bigger and bolder edition this summer.

"We have an unrivalled programme of music, acclaimed comedy and an expanded wellbeing schedule. We’re opening our doors to families, with dedicated entertainment for children of all ages, and adding a fantastic artisan food destination.

"Connect really is a unique event in Scotland, bringing together everything that’s great about live music, being outdoors and I really feel we’ve created something so much bigger than the sum of its parts.

"Connect is all about being with friends and loved ones, creating our own community for the weekend, full of like-minded people, at one of the most beautiful festivals in the country."

Further music, comedy and spoken word acts are still to be announced.

What? A three-day music festival hostings acts from grassroots level to globally renowned from the world of dance, indie, rock, rap and all that lies in between.

Where? The Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh,

When? August 25-27, 2023.

Who? Primal Scream, Fred Again.. and Boygenius are confirmed as headliners. Also set to appear across the three days are Franz Ferdinand, Future Islands, Confidence Man, Young Fathers, Róisín Murphy, MUNA, Raye, Public Service Broadcasting, Daniel Avery, Arab Strap, Loyle Carner, Friendly Fires, Katie Gregson-MacLeod and more you can check out on the poster below.
