Florence And The Machine Share Cover Of No Doubt's Just A Girl

Florence And The Machine have released a cover of No Doubt's single Just A Girl.
Produced by vocalist Florence Welch and Idles' Mark Bowen, the dark, melodramatic reworking features in a new trailer for the second season of Showtime's hit series, Yellowjackets. In a statement, Welch said:
"I’m such a huge fan of Yellowjackets and this era of music, and this song especially had a huge impact on me growing up, so I was thrilled to be asked to interpret it in a 'deeply unsettling' way for the show.”
She added: "We tried to really add some horror elements to this iconic song to fit the tone of the show. And as someone who’s first musical love was pop punk and Gwen Stefani it was a dream job."
Season two of Yellowjackets will debut on demand and on streaming on March 24 for all Showtime subscribers.
Florence And The Machine have large outdoor shows lined up in Cork, Dublin and Belfast this summer. The group are currently in Australia with their Dance Fever Tour, which shares its name with their 2022 fifth studio album. Last October, they dropped the live LP 'Dance Fever (Live At Madison Square Garden)'.
